Hi John,
What's better than flipping one red district blue? Flipping two districts from red to blue. AND one of them being held by the top Republican. AND becoming the youngest woman to serve in the history of the chamber.
All these accolades go to climate activist Chloe Maxmin who first ran (and won) for Maine state House in 2018 when she was 26 years old! She was the first Democrat EVER to represent the district, which is very old and very rural. Then in 2020, she ran for the Maine state Senate and beat out the top-ranking leader of the Republican party.
Chloe is a
lifelong organizer who understands how we can get things -- from climate change reversal to broadband internet access for all -- done in state legislatures.
Come listen to learn how she keeps making headlines, why rural America is not a lost cause for Democrats, how to talk to people you fundamentally disagree with, and what Maine politics is
really like.
