Donald Trump just endorsed Rep. Mo Brooks for the Alabama Senate. Brooks is a MAGA ally who told Trump's mob to "start taking down names and kicking ass" right before they stormed the Capitol three months ago.

Trump's supporters in the Senate saved him from impeachment -- and now Trump is hoping to put more pro-insurrection allies in the chamber. Mo Brooks is still pushing baseless election fraud claims in the House, and if he makes it to the Senate, we know he'll play a key role in the GOP's agenda to destroy our democracy.

We know a lot of Democrats aren't paying attention to this seat -- but if we can flip Alabama blue next year, we'll have one less seditionist in the Senate, and we'll likely hold a Democratic majority for the remainder of Biden's presidency.

Listen, we know this sounds like an unwinnable battle. But that's what they said about Georgia, and Democrats have flipped Alabama blue before.

Former Democratic Senator from Alabama Doug Jones, who defied the odds by defeating a Trump-endorsed Republican in 2017, knows we can do it again in 2022.

"Democrats are building [the] blocks necessary [to win] right now with the changing demographics that we got in the state. ... That's where democrats failed, but that's where Democrats now are coming to the fore and coming into their own."

We're building a grassroots movement that includes Americans from all walks of life, and the 2020 elections showed us that we can win against the GOP's white nationalist agenda if we build inclusive platforms and turn everyone out to vote.

This is about more than beating the odds, to be clear. This is about making sure that a dangerous insurrectionist doesn't get his hands on more power. Brooks was one of the first Republicans who voted to overturn the election results. He even announced his Senate bid alongside Stephen Miller, a known white supremacist.

We don't want to imagine the damage Mo Brooks would inflict as Senator.
