Friends,
Today, we’re unveiling our Gun Violence Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, DC to remember victims of gun violence and to inspire the courage to act and save lives.
The 40,000 flowers that make up this installation represent the number of Americans who die from gun violence each year.
We know that gun violence is preventable. We know there are solutions. What we need now is for the Senate to summon the courage to act.
We hope that this installation will bring attention to the epidemic of gun violence in this country. We hope that it will force members of Congress to visually see the loss that is happening due to their inaction.
Now we just need your help to spread the message, and that starts by making your voice heard.
If you would like to get involved, you can add your name to dedicate a flower in this installation to someone and join us in the fight to end gun violence.
Nearly every American will know a victim of gun violence at some point in their lifetime. This installation will visualize that reality in a bold and unique way that refuses to be overlooked or ignored.
It’ll be impossible to ignore the breadth and depth of a crisis when it takes up so much physical space, especially given its proximity to the halls of Congress.
This display will serve as a tribute to the many lives that have been lost to gun violence, a testament to the strength and courage of survivors, and a plea to our elected officials to pass universal background checks and other lifesaving gun safety legislation in the Senate.
Thank you so much for being a partner in this movement.
