The Democrats plan to end our First in the Nation Primary must be
stopped!

Friend,
By now, I’m sure that many of you are aware of the Democrats’ bill
HR1, a push towards a total overhaul of our voting system, and not for
the better. HR1 is a threat, not only to our First in the Nation
Primary, but to the integrity of our elections, and ultimately to the
rights of the states to govern themselves. Make no mistake, this is
legislation which will have far-reaching consequences, beyond this
upcoming election.
What the Democrats are deceptively calling the “For the People
Act,” is, in reality, a transgression against Granite Staters.
Federalized elections, taxpayer funded campaigns, a ban on voter
ID, attacks on election integrity, these things are only the tip of
the iceberg. HR1 would implement numerous measures which have already
been rejected by the New Hampshire legislature, including a mandated
15 days of early voting, universal no-excuse absentee voting, and
automatic voter registration. These ultimatums do nothing to ensure
free and fair elections, but open the door to fraud, and set a
precedent of Federal overreach. Democrats, both nationally and
locally, have no interest in election integrity, only in maintaining
and abusing their own authority.
Both of our Representatives, Chris Pappas and Ann Kuster have already
voted in favor of HR1, while Senators Jeane Shaheen and Maggie Hassan
have signaled their support. In doing so, our representatives have not
only taken a stand against New Hampshire law, but also taken the first
steps toward ending one of our most significant traditions, our First
in the Nation Primary.
Since 1920 the Granite State has proudly served as the first state in
the nation to hold its presidential primary election. Though
Republicans and Democrats alike have historically defended our First
in the Nation status, it now appears that the Democrats are ready to
abandon this tradition. Our Secretary of State Bill Gardner has called
HR1 “an egregious overreach of federal authority,” and says it
will “put our Presidential Primary in a perilous position. Meanwhile
national democrats like Harry Reid and James Clyburn have already made
clear their intent to find a new home for the nation’s inaugural
primary. In abandoning First in the Nation, New Hampshire Democrats
have shown their loyalty, not to their constituents, but to Nancy
Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and their Democrat cronies in DC.
It is vital that we take action, and defend New Hampshire’s first in
the nation primary before it is too late. Please, take this
opportunity to sign our petition, defend New Hampshire traditions, and
call on our Federal Legislators to REJECT HR1. The New Hampshire GOP

you ensure that our message reaches more eyes, and sends a clear
message to Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen that New Hampshire stands
against HR1.
