We have nearly 50 legal projects that need your help:


** 21+ HOURS

Represent Incarcerated LGBTQIA+/HIV+ Citizens ([link removed])

Black & Pink

Represent incarcerated LGBTQIA+/HIV+ people as they pursue civil rights cases, post-conviction remedies, criminal appeals, and other legal issues. Lawyers barred in any state are welcome to volunteer, though lawyers barred in TX, NE, OH, MO, and FL are especially needed.


** 6—10 HOURS

Help Education Nonprofit Review Privacy & Security Agreement ([link removed])

Podsie

A startup nonprofit focused on innovation in K-12 classrooms needs help reviewing a privacy and security compliance agreement and building a compliance plan. Lawyers barred in any state are welcome to volunteer for this remote opportunity.


** 11—20 HOURS

Help Protect Immigrants from Deportation ([link removed])

Mississippi Center for Justice

Following mass raids by ICE, hundreds of immigrants in Mississippi are currently detained and need help avoiding deportation. You do NOT need to be barred in Mississippi to volunteer. This remote project is only available to Spanish-speaking lawyers or those who have access to translation services.

Help Represent Asylum Seekers ([link removed])

Diocesan Migrant & Refugee Services, Inc.

Asylum seekers on the U.S.-Mexico border need lawyers to help them navigate immigration questions and represent them in immigration courts. Lawyers do NOT needed to be licensed in Texas to volunteer.


** 1—5 HOURS

Help a Single Father in Mexico Send His Child to the U.S. ([link removed])

Rhizome Center for Migrants

Draft a temporary guardianship agreement for a single father in Mexico who would like to send his U.S. citizen child to live with a family member in the U.S. Lawyers must be barred in California.


** 11—20 HOURS

Join the Movement to Stop Evictions in Michigan ([link removed])

Movement Law Lab

A new legal network of Michigan housing lawyers is organizing to create a first line of defense for Michiganders facing eviction. Lawyers must be barred in Michigan, and lawyers in Detroit are especially needed.
