Hello John,

Further to my update yesterday (included below for reference), the Guidance for Youth Organisations has now been approved by the Minister and will be available on the Department website later today.

We will be continuing to work with Government officials on your behalf and as ever, if you have any questions or feedback in the meantime let me know.

Kind regards,

Hello John,

Please find for your information draft Guidance for Youth Organisations. Please note these draft updates are pending approval by the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.

The key changes to the guidance are:
  • From April 12th two households can meet outside. This will facilitate the re-introduction of one-to-one sessions in outdoor settings.

  • From April 26th underage non-contact outdoor training in pods of 15 or fewer can restart. This will facilitate group sessions for young people in outdoor settings.

  • In line with the Minister’s Letter from January 5th, crisis work can operate indoors, delivered in line with prevailing public health restrictions, and should only take place where mandated by the most senior management of the youth service.

Please note that, following the publication of the updated Guidance, the Minister’s Letter from January 5th will be withdrawn.

A further update will issue following the Minister’s decision.

Warmest regards,

Mary
