Illinois Early Childhood Advocacy Week, Day 2: Community Voice is Essential
#EarlyEdIsEssential
Welcome back! On Day 2 of Illinois Early Childhood Advocacy Week 2021, we’re focusing on: why community voice is essential to early childhood programs, policy and advocacy and – ultimately – the success of children and families across Illinois.
Illinois must center its early childhood policies and systems around what children, families and communities need most. When we center these experiences, we get to the heart of what early childhood services and supports are most important and impactful.
SB1832/HB3619 grants Illinois community colleges the authority to confer baccalaureate degrees in early childhood. This gives early childhood providers greater affordability, flexibility and access in obtaining an advanced degree and helps meet the demand for early learning and care services across the state. This important connection to community colleges allows providers to advance their education in their home communities or the communities they serve. The Illinois Senate Higher Education Committee is expected to discuss the bill tonight—don’t miss your chance to
