If the bees disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.  - attributed to Albert Einstein

Another Road to Doomsday: Planetary Biocide
2021 State of the Planet

George Stone Ph.D.
Professor Emeritus of Natural Science, MATC

Dr. Stone's talk will have a "special emphasis on decreasing biodiversity and rising extinction rates, and on the increasing probabilities of pandemics."

"Each time a species goes extinct, the world around us unravels a bit. The consequences are profound, not just in those places and for those species but for all of us. These are tangible consequential losses, such as crop pollination and water purification, but also spiritual and cultural ones." - The Center for Biological Diversity

Is there Hope for Climate Change?

Friday's for Future
Friday, April 16, 2021 12:00 - 1:00 pm

Chase and Wells Fargo Banks
Wisconsin Ave & Water St

We've got the signs, just show up!

The world’s biggest 60 banks have provided $3.8tn of financing for fossil fuel companies since the Paris climate deal in 2015, according to a report by a coalition of NGOs.

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic cutting energy use, overall funding remains on an upward trend and the finance provided in 2020 was higher than in 2016 or 2017, a fact the report’s authors and others described as “shocking”. The Guardian, March 24, 2021

Stop Enbridge Line 3

The pipeline that President Biden needs to stop
Opinion by Ilhan Omar and Tara Houska, CNN April 9, 2021

"By the Mississippi River headwaters -- the mighty river running through the center of our country and powering much of Minnesota -- is a small, clear stream. Its bends hold marshy reeds surrounded by towering pines. It's one of the places where traffic noise is a rarity and the forest looms large. Lately, however, the sounds of heavy equipment and excavators prepping the ground to transport tar sands oil under the riverbed echo through the wetlands."

TAR SANDS OIL, the world's most polluting oil!

If you haven't already, sign the petition today

Line 3 is a massive pipeline underway in northern Minnesota that violates Indigenous rights and it would carry pollution equivalent to 50 coal power plants.

Please
sign the petition calling on Joe Biden to #StopLine3 immediately and invoke a climate test for all pipelines.
