CU CEO to represent NAFCU at fintech chartering hearing
Carlos Pacheco, CEO of Premier Members Credit Union (Boulder, Colo.), will testify on behalf of NAFCU during Thursday's House Financial Services Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions hearing on fintech charters. Pacheco is the only financial institution representative set to testify.

NAFCU to honor CU champions with new award
As credit unions' leading federal advocate, NAFCU is launching a new award – the Congressional Credit Union Champion Award – to thank members of Congress for their support of the credit union industry and efforts to create a healthy legislative and regulatory environment that allows credit unions to thrive.

PPP data reveals roughly $58B in funding remains
The Small Business Administration (SBA) released updated paycheck protection program (PPP) data, showing that more than 4 million loans have been approved in 2021, totaling almost $233 billion. With the program extended to May 31, there is roughly $58 billion of funds still available.

FinCEN hosting special session for underserved groups
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) will host a special monthly Innovation Hours Program session June 10 with a focus on the important role of underserved groups in the development of technology to fight illicit activity in financial services.
