Ramadan Mubarak, Friend!
As we enter into the most important season for American Muslims, I want to wish you and your family a joyous Ramadan!
What a difference a year makes.
The past year has tested our resilience in countless ways. While so many of us continue to wrestle with isolation, joblessness and personal loss, we also have more reasons to be hopeful — with a new administration and an end to the COVID pandemic possibly in sight.
Here at Muslim Advocates, we’re seizing this moment of possibility to advance the rights of American Muslims and all people in important new ways. For example, we’re:
*
Preventing
the
Muslim
Ban
from
ever
happening
again
by
getting
the
NO
BAN
Act
passed
through
Congress
and
signed
into
law.

*
Pressuring
tech
companies
to
finally
remove
anti-Muslim
hate
that
proliferates
on
their
platforms
by
bringing
a
landmark
lawsuit
against
Facebook.

*
Holding
law
enforcement
accountable
by
collaborating
with
partners
in
Chicago
to
get
anti-Muslim
police
union
president
John
Catanzara
fired,
as
well
as
working
with
the
family
of
Muhammad
Muhaymin
Jr.
to
get
justice
for
his
killing
by
Phoenix
police.

*
Advocating
to
the
Biden
Administration
to
dismantle
Trump-era
immigration
abuses
like
denaturalization,
which
was
weaponized
to
strip
naturalized
Americans
of
color
of
their
citizenship.

*
Ensuring
that
American
Muslims
can
live
free
from
discrimination
by
helping
the
Muslim
community
in
Indiana
build
a
community
center
despite
bigoted
opposition
and
suing
a
Virginia
prison
for
its
cruel
treatment
of
incarcerated
Muslims.
But we need your help to keep doing this work. For zakat-eligible charities like ours, Ramadan is the most important time of the year for fundraising.

Yes, I'll support Muslim Advocates this Ramadan! [[link removed]]
Ramadan is the season for giving and, throughout the month, you’ll hear stories from Muslim Advocates’ clients, staff and board members about what drives them to give to this work.
Change is never easy, but this past year has reminded us that it’s possible. Now is our time to build an America that lives up to its ideals.
And we are thankful for the chance to do that with you.
With Gratitude,
Farhana Khera
Executive Director
Muslim Advocates
