As everyone who lives here knows, Connecticut is the pizza capital of the world — but somehow, many Americans still don’t know this.

The CT General Assembly is now considering a bill to officially designate pizza as the state food of Connecticut, a move that would solidify CT pizza’s significance to the world.

John, we talk about a lot of important issues here at the Connecticut Democratic Party, and today is no different: do you support making pizza the official state food of Connecticut? [[link removed]]

If you’ve ever read a “Best pizza in the United States” article or watched a travel show about where to find the most delicious pizza in the world, you’ll know that Connecticut pizza consistently comes out on top.

And it’s New Haven pizza — like Pepe’s, Sally's, Modern, and BAR — that dominates these lists.

But the beauty of being home to these iconic institutions is that pizza greatness permeates from New Haven throughout all of Connecticut, which means that many CT residents have favorites that are lesser-known, but potentially just as good as the famous ones.

On our podcast last year [[link removed]] , U.S. Senator Chris Murphy said that Vito’s Pizza in Wethersfield is his favorite.
