Mecklenburg Tax Alliance Campaign Kickoff

You may have heard about the sales tax increase that is on the ballot this November. While the Mecklenburg County Young Republicans has not taken a position on the tax increase, we did want to share an upcoming event with our membership. Kelly Tain, Matthew Ridenhour, Vanessa Faura, and others have formed the Mecklenburg Tax Alliance to advocate against the tax increase.
The Mecklenburg Tax Alliance (MTA) is a coalition of people and organizations opposed to the sales tax increase. It is a diverse, non-partisan organization. The MTA is having its campaign kickoff this Thursday, October 3rd, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Legion Brewing in SouthPark. All are welcome for free hors d'oeuvres and the opportunity to learn the reasons people are opposed to this tax hike.
