Last year, we suffered a loss of 13 seats in the House, reducing the margin between Democrats and Republicans from 36 to just 10 (and we’ve lost a little ground since then). But of the three Democrats in the entire country to flip Congressional seats from red to blue last year, all of them were NewDems. And on average, NewDem candidates and incumbents even outperformed President Joe Biden in critical swing districts in the 2020 elections.
