We’re so proud of this team,

Last week, Congress was on a recess. It's a time when members and senators
return to their districts to hear directly from the people they represent.
Women's Marchers joined with 40+ other organizations to take advantage of
this time to send a clear message to our elected leaders that we need REAL
recovery in the wake of this recovery. We sent hundreds of bouquets with a
special message:

"Roses are red. Violets are blue. Fight hard for real recovery, Women
voters are watching you!"
Actions like these are how we're going to make sure women's voices are
heard.
We must continue coming together as a movement to remind Congress that we
need more than just relief from the pandemic. We need Congress to pass
lasting policy changes including a $15 minimum wage, national paid leave,
universal child care, and to bring back women's jobs with bold initiatives
like The Thrive Agenda to create a future where women can thrive.

Women are experiencing the worst effects of the COVID-19 recession. In the
last year, over 3 million women have dropped out of the workforce. Women,
especially women of color, have been impacted the most by wage cuts,
layoffs, loss of health insurance due to unemployment, and increasing
child care costs.
From work, child care, chores, virtual schooling — women all across the
country are being expected to do it all — and we’re on the brink.
But here's something we must also remember: The challenges women face in
this pandemic aren't new. This pandemic has exacerbated the long-time
problems women in our country face, the disparities that have formed from
an economy that puts profits over people, and the broken systems that are
supposed to protect the most vulnerable.
That’s why Congress must think bigger than just how much relief we need to
get through this crisis. Women need policy solutions that match the scale
of challenges we've faced for so long and to establish a future where we
all can thrive. Together, Women's Marchers are doing this important work —
but these types of direct actions and mobilizations can only happen with
enough funding from this team.
