John — I’m going to get to the point: Arizona Republicans are trying to change the rules to make it easier for them to win in 2022. They want to fundamentally change the state’s Permanent Early Voting List (PEVL) and potentially purge 125,000-150,000 voters from the list.

Voting should be easy and Arizona’s awesome Permanent Early Voting List does just that. John, if voters request a mail ballot for one election, they are automatically sent a ballot for future elections.

That’s where the “permanent” comes in, but Republicans are on track to pass a bill that would kick voters off the list if they don’t vote every year.

This legislation -- making Arizona’s Permanent Early Voting List not permanent -- would purge an estimated 125,000-150,000 voters from the list. Republicans are taking a great system and corrupting it so they can get an edge in 2022. I’m asking you to support work to stop this legislation from passing.

As Secretary of State and then as Governor of Oregon, I worked to make voting easier because that’s what’s best for our democracy.

Receiving a ballot in the mail for every election makes voting more accessible, and the system Arizona has now with the Permanent Early Voting List works! Republicans want to cripple the current system and make it harder for people to vote.

Purging voters is undemocratic. Please donate to support our grassroots effort to protect access to voting in Arizona.

Politicians high-jacking a perfectly good system so they can suppress the vote is detrimental to our democracy. We must protect Arizona’s Permanent Early Voting List and stop this attack on vote by mail.

Thank you,
Governor Kate Brown

Vote From Home is a grassroots movement that's fighting to expand vote-by-mail. We helped thousands of Democrats vote safely from home in Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina and Georgia in 2020 and 2021. Now we're focused on stopping politicians and legislation who are making it harder for Americans to vote by mail.
