Dear John,

2020 was a year like no other. From a global pandemic to nationwide protests for racial justice to a devastating wildfire season to defending our democracy, we all have been compelled to take a step back and assess our values.

At NPH, we’ve seen clearly the need to step up and forward into our collective work of advancing the kinds of policies and programs that can bring lasting, systemic change to all of our Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, and all people of color neighbors and communities as well as responding to the critical needs of the hour.

Today, I’m honored to share with you our 2020 Impact Report, which offers a small window into a much larger story -- a story of our members, allies, and supporters who’ve collectively answered the call for housing and racial justice and worked alongside us with determination, resilience, and commitment for our affordable housing movement, despite countless obstacles and challenges.

In this Impact Report, you’ll learn about our work and focus areas throughout 2020. Here are some of the critical needs we’ve worked together as a part of our movement to respond to:

  • COVID-19 response and recovery;
  • Resident services staff in the time of Shelter-in-Place;
  • More affordable homes;
  • Strengthening and guiding our movement with timely programming;
  • Racial equity and inclusion programs and initiatives;
  • Regional affordable housing infrastructure through the creation and activation of Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA); and
  • Direct voter outreach to affordable housing residents.

I can’t thank you enough for your continued support for our affordable housing movement and NPH. I look forward to working alongside you throughout the remainder of 2021, and one way you can maximize your impact and engagement is to join or renew your NPH membership today.
