When Democrats compete at the local level, we win. And that’s critically important because there are so many issues that affect the lives of everyday Mainers that never make it to Augusta or Washington -- they get decided in our select board or school board meetings instead.

But we can only win in races where we have a Democrat running. Last November, 80% of the local elections we lost were because there wasn't a Democrat in the race.

That’s why we launched an exciting new program to contest every local race! This is a huge undertaking, and we’re well on the way! We compiled a list of upcoming municipal elections, identified where there was not a Democrat running, and then collaborated with local Democratic Committees to identify and recruit potential candidates. And here's where we need your help: doing the follow-up research.
