Dear John,

Black women in the U.S. are experiencing higher rates of mortality when accessing pregnancy care. We can’t ignore this reality and we must do more to fight racism and address health inequities.

This week is Black Maternal Health Week [[link removed]] and PRH is joining partners across the country to raise awareness and build support for Black maternal health, rights, and justice.

Join PRH’s President & CEO Dr. Jamila Perritt today as she discusses how to create a better future for Black women. It’s streaming live @BlkMamasMatter [[link removed]] on Twitter today at 4:30 pm ET!

Black-led and Black-centered organizations, like Black Mamas Matter Alliance, are leading the charge to transform all aspects of maternal health, including abortion access and we urge you to support their work. We are following their lead as we bring the voice of the physician advocate to conversations about Black maternal health.

Stay tuned for more updates this week on how you can learn, mobilize, and take action for #BMHW21. For more information and to support this campaign, visit Black Mamas Matter Alliance [[link removed]].
