Mitch McConnell was not concerned about paying for Trump’s billionaire tax cut, but now he wants to block plans to rebuild our aging infrastructure — and update housing, public transit, our national electric grid, broadband, and more — because he's against paying for it. The fact is the American Jobs Plan would be partly financed by closing corporate tax haven loopholes in the 2017 Trump tax cut. But if McConnell and his allies don’t want big corporations to pay their share to modernize our roads, bridges and transit systems then we should ask them: What's their plan? This critical initiative also advances the fight against climate change and includes legislation I introduced to jump-start clean energy projects across the country. The American Jobs Plan is an opportunity we can’t afford to miss to write a new chapter for America. Onwards, Chris |
