Dear John,
I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe as we continue weathering the COVID-19 pandemic. I wanted to give you some updates on my efforts to serve the residents of San Francisco’s 10th District over the past few months.
-
In March, our team helped secure $2 million in funding for the Emergency Family Relief Fund, which helps immigrant and undocumented families in San Francisco who are experiencing extreme hardships.
-
We helped pass an emergency ordinance authorizing $5/hour hazard pay for retail, grocery, and pharmacy workers during the pandemic.
-
I’ve been opposing the recreational redlining of JFK Drive and Golden Gate Park, and insisting we reopen JFK Drive so all San Franciscans can access our public park.
I’ve also been fighting to ensure the COVID-19 vaccination distribution process prioritizes equity.
Recently, my office partnered with Dr. Grant Colfax of the Department of Public Health to answer questions regarding the vaccine. If you’d like to hear the conversation, you can check out the town hall here.
If you are eligible for the vaccine, please get it. The more San Franciscans who are vaccinated, the closer we can get back to a thriving San Francisco. SCHEDULE A VACCINE » While we are slowly reopening, the pandemic is still among us. Please stay at home as much as possible and wear a mask when not home. Remember to wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds and often and stay six feet away from others when you must be in public.
As we begin to turn the corner in fighting this pandemic, I’m ready to continue working for our most vulnerable neighbors and our working families, to make sure our City recovers with equity and inclusion in mind.
Thanks for your continued support. Now let’s make it safely to the finish line together.
Gratefully,
- Shamann
