Hi Family—

I am reaching out with some updates knowing that despite the short Congressional recess, it’s another mission-critical week in the Democratic ecosystem,  which is why I have to start on a note of gratitude. I am constantly heartened to see so many of you on the frontlines defending our democracy. And in tough times like these, just know that the DNC is disseminating key information around the clock to highlight how crucial it is that we win back the White House in 2020.

We are building the infrastructure to help Democrats win. In that fight, I wanted to make sure you have our latest updates and ask for your help in directing diverse, talented Democrats to the below opportunities.

Ahead you’ll find information on the next wave of Organizing Corps 2020 recruitment, which started yesterday; how you can share additional fantastic training opportunities like our Voter Protection Bootcamp and digital organizing webinars; and current open job positions in the states. As you’ve heard from Chair Perez, we are organizing early and everywhere, which you can see in these pieces from the Huffington Post and the Billings Gazette

Organizing Corps 2020

This summer, Organizing Corps 2020 -- with your support -- trained 300 Corps members in ten cities to ensure we have the field force needed to take back the White House. We are excited to return to seven key battleground states for a one-week-on-campus bootcamp for current seniors/May 2020 grads.

Get ready for the launch of Organizing Corps 2020 Wave 2! First up: Wisconsin and Arizona! The application for these winter bootcamps is now officially OPEN!!

We remain committed to recruiting local and diverse talent. Please help us share the application information with your networks by using the resources in our Outreach Toolkit, including:

  • Bootcamp flyer (AZ, WI)

  • Social media graphic

  • Social media post language

  • Email language for blasts to networks and students

Additionally, we are recruiting Lead Coaches for our Wave 2 and Wave 3 programs. Please share this post with seasoned organizing, training, and field management professionals who would be a great fit!

For any questions regarding our next wave of recruitment and training programs, please reach out to the points of contact listed below:

  • Wisconsin- Emma Arata, Organizing Corps 2020 State Program Director,  [email protected]

  • Arizona- Fred Curtis, Organizing Corps 2020 State Program Director,  [email protected]

Thank you as always for your support and partnership as we continue to build the field force for our eventual Democratic presidential nominee.

Additional Training Opportunities

Voter Protection Law School Bootcamp: The Democratic Party is launching the Voter Protection Law School Bootcamp in states across the country. The program will train the next generation of voter protection staff and volunteers. Deploying talent from our best law schools, the Voter Protection Law School Bootcamp Program will train and engage people where they are needed most -- on the ground, in battleground states. The program will run from October 2019 through early December 2019 and will target second- and third-year law students. It will consist of two classroom hours per week, with lectures covering the history, current state, and future of voting rights and voter protection work. Most importantly, the bootcamp will train students on the practical methods of running a voter protection program during a campaign cycle. Participants will be responsible for conducting at least one voter engagement and volunteer engagement program. To have voter protection staffers ready to support the 2020 campaign, we need to start training now.

To Apply: Complete the online application form and email the following to [email protected]:

  • Resume

  • Short Writing Sample

  • Personal Statement

Applications should be submitted exclusively through this web page and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We encourage interested students to apply early. Applications will close on October 4, 2019.

APPLICANTS MUST:

  • Have a deep commitment to core Democratic tenets and principles.

  • Be currently enrolled in the second or third year of a U.S. law school.

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Digital Organizing Webinars: Calling all college students and folks seeking a job in the digital space in 2020 or beyond? The DNC is going to be hosting periodic webinars on digital organizing for people who want to work on campaigns. Apply here today!

Best Practices Institute: The Best Practices Institute (BPI) is the shared training department of the DNC and the ASDC. The BPI delivers trainings to activists and volunteers, party leaders and staff, students and youth organizers, candidates and campaign staff, constituency caucus members and community leaders, and so many more! Since its inaugural year in 2018, the BPI expanded the existing training department from four training programs to a robust department with 14 independent training programs, and counting! In 2019 alone, the BPI has already trained over 10,000 party leaders and activists across the country and the world. Check out their website to find additional training opportunities!

Job Opportunities

Know great folks? As we work to build the infrastructure for our eventual Democractic presidential nominee, many of the Democratic state parties are hiring for key positions. Do you know anyone in your network who would be a good fit for these roles: AZ Latinx Outreach Engagement Manager, AZ Native American Outreach Manager, and ME Communications Director? Additionally, we’re hiring here at the DNC!

In Solidarity,
