Dear ,
After a year of organizing, months of marching and a 23-day hunger strike, New York made history this past week by establishing the country’s first excluded worker fund, meaning that excluded but essential New Yorkers — many of whom have kept our city running throughout this pandemic — will finally receive much-needed aid.
Team Dianne is humbled and proud to have been able to stand with the #FundExcludedWorkers coalition on the road to this historic victory – but we still have work to do to make sure all essential workers have their needs met.
It’s why we’re hosting a town hall to hear from frontline workers about their most pressing needs. Please join us tonight, April 12, from 6:30pm–8pm to hold space for essential workers from the frontline medical community and excluded workers in the taxi service and sex trades about what life was like before COVID-19 and why we cannot return to “normalcy.” This Excluded + Essential Workers Town Hall will be moderated by Nia Evans. Our panelists are:
Spanish and ASL interpretation will be provided.
A future NYC can and should be equitable to all workers without stigma. From the freelancer to the union member to the undocumented laborer, the Morales Administration is committed to making sure the needs of the People are our first priority. Please register now to join us for this important conversation. In solidarity,
