We have a short window to call on our members of Congress to stop him.

Trump ended the Endangered Species Act as we know it, but Congress can still restore protections for wildlife. LCV is rushing to get 20,000 messages into Congress urging them to restore the Endangered Species Act. Join us and contact your elected leaders now »

Friend, endangered species from all parts of the country really need your help.

A few months ago, the Trump administration announced sweeping plans to roll back major portions of the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The plan makes it harder to keep protections for endangered species, easier for Big Polluters to mine or drill in protected habitats, limits our ability to mitigate the effects of climate change on wildlife, and weakens protections for the plants and animals that remain on the list. No administration has ever attacked wildlife protections so dramatically.

Now our pro-environment leaders in Congress are fighting back — and they need to know the public is with them. They introduced the Protect America's Wildlife and Fish in Need of Protection Act, and it is our best chance to restore the Endangered Species Act and protect wildlife across the country. We need 20,000 LCV supporters to voice their support for this bill and stop the Trump administration's mass extinction plan.

Will you send a message to the 116th Congress to protect endangered species, friend?

The Trump administration's efforts to gut the Endangered Species Act come at the worst possible time. The plan was announced just months after an astonishing UN biodiversity report warned that one million species are on the verge of disappearing forever. And just last week, the UN released a special report on the state of our oceans confirming yet again that we're already facing an unprecedented global mass extinction.

Trump is ignoring the science and rolling back protections for wildlife just to give away protected places to Big Polluters. We've been fighting this pattern now for years: From trying to open up areas around the Grand Canyon to uranium mining to rushing to sell oil and gas leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the Trump administration has proved that they will stop at nothing to increase fossil fuel profits.

But we can't let them do the same to the Endangered Species Act. The ESA is one of our greatest conservation success stories — the law has saved 99% of listed species from extinction. And as climate change gets worse, so many more species need our help. If Trump's plans move forward, our ability to protect species like the spotted seal, northern spotted owl, and southern sea otters could be completely wrecked. Without the ESA, these animals will face extraordinary threats like development, drilling, or mining in their habitats.

We are just coming off a win driven by LCV supporters like you, so I know we can do it again. Because of messages you sent to Congress last month, the House of Representatives passed three bills to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, our coasts, and our oceans — a major victory for Arctic and marine wildlife, especially given the Trump administration's efforts to support Big Polluters' bottom line. When you spoke out and helped us flood Congress with phone calls and letters, we made so much noise they had no choice but to listen.

We need that same show of force now — the fate of wildlife across the nation depends on it. Can you join us in contacting your members of Congress to help save the Endangered Species Act and support the Protect America's Wildlife and Fish in Need of Protection Act?

There is no time to waste — we need 20,000 LCV supporters to speak out now to stop the Trump administration from rolling back protections for endangered species »

Thank you so much for fighting for our wildlife.
