Donald Trump has made our country less safe. He has tried to dim our future, and pushed us closer to climate crisis than we have ever been. He has done this to consolidate money and power for himself and his rich cronies. But greed always catches up to you and he got caught trying to game the system and use the power and influence of the United States Presidency for his personal gain.
And he is being impeached for it.
Since Nancy Pelosi announced that the House will open a formal impeachment inquiry, Trump has become more dangerous, tweeting wildly inflammatory statements that have frightening implications for our democracy and demean the office of the president. Trump has demonstrated time and again that he will subvert the will of the people to preserve his power.
Social movements like the one Women’s March is part of, are our last line of defense against Trump’s assault on our democracy. Women were the first to speak up against his violence-first immigration policies, his disastrous economic policies, and his sexual abuses against women. We were in the streets over five million strong to protest the very next day after his inauguration. We have lobbied our representatives, knocked on doors, and drew a line in the sand to protect our shared future.
Impeachment is an important step, but the job is not done. We can’t let up for even a day; we have to keep the pressure on our elected officials until Trump is removed from the Oval Office. Women’s March will be announcing national action to demand impeachment soon. Can we count on you, our most staunch supporters, to contribute today to keep funding our fight?
Impeachment is a goal we’ve been working towards for a long time, together. Donald Trump is on the ropes, and it’s time for us to come together and recommit to ending his presidency. For the last three years, we have been building a new future together, and I’m proud to be in the fight with you.
