South Adams Street to close tomorrow, Oct. 3, for improvements
New underground infrastructure will support restaurant development on Block 11
On Thursday, Oct. 3, crews will close South Adams Street from Washington to Van Buren Street for underground sewer construction.
The road is expected to be closed through early December.
When complete, the public infrastructure upgrades will support new developments on Block 11, the downtown block bounded by Washington, Main, Van Buren, and Adams Streets. When finished, Block 11 will include a three-story mixed-use restaurant and office space building on Main Street, a Mexican restaurant along Washington Street, plus additional public parking, and a reimagining of the streetscape featuring a pedestrian thoroughfare.
