John,

For months, brave workers in Alabama worked tirelessly in unfair
conditions to unionize their warehouse. But on Friday, news broke that
Amazon held on to enough power to squash their movement. The union drive
was defeated.

This came after Amazon and Jeff Bezos used a number of dirty tricks and
disgusting union-busting tactics to quash the union drive. Bezos is worth
$192 BILLION, (that's $192,000,000,000 written out with all the zeroes,
FYI) and yet he continues to screw over and exploit the men and women who
made it all possible. It's an absolute disgrace.

Our country urgently needs to protect the sacred union way of life that
built our nation. But you know what else we need,
John?

We urgently need wealthy corporations to pay their fair share in taxes.

It's mind-numbingly outrageous that, while working-class
Americans are
busy paying our fair share, giant corporations and the very wealthiest get
away with paying *next to nothing* in taxes compared to the billions they
rake in. Getting billionaires like Bezos to pay their fair share would
enable us to fund things like health care as a basic right for all,
affordable higher education, and *massive* investments in green
infrastructure and jobs to combat our climate crisis. But the one thing
standing in the way is that not enough of our leaders in Congress have the
courage to get it done.

[ [link removed] ]If you agree that giant, multi-billion dollar corporations and the very
wealthiest in our country should pay their fair share in taxes — just like
the rest of us — add your name to my petition right now. It's time for
Bezos and his billionaire friends to invest in our country and its working
people.

The union way of life is sacred. It built this nation. We have to put
power directly into the hands of workers — but we can't stop there.

Finally standing up to gigantic, multi-billion dollar corporations like
Amazon and making them pay their fair share in taxes would enable our
country to make major investments in things like COVID relief, health
care, infrastructure, affordable housing, and education for all. And the
best part? We can actually do this,
John. We just need to elect leaders to the
Senate who aren't afraid to take a little heat from rich dudes like
anti-union, anti-worker Jeff Bezos.

[ [link removed] ]Say it with me, John: It's
time to unrig our economy, close the historically-high wealth gap, and
make giant corporations pay their fair share in this country.

Thank you for signing on, 💪
