Friend,
I wanted to make sure you saw my email below, requesting donations for a local soup kitchen during this urgent time of need.
For 35 years, the Muslim Center’s Soup Kitchen in Detroit has never missed serving a meal to the community―feeding all individuals, regardless of race, religion, or creed. And, in the midst of the pandemic, the need is great.
Can you make a donation directly to the Muslim Center today to support their soup kitchen so they can continue feeding the community hot meals throughout the month of Ramadan?
Read my email below for more information about the community the Muslim Center fosters, treating all who they serve with dignity and respect.
Thank you for being part of my community,
Rashida

Friend,
Throughout this pandemic, millions more people have fallen into poverty. This has dramatically increased the need for food pantries and local soup kitchens as people and families struggle to put food on the table.
Even before the pandemic began, my district―one of the poorest in the country―already struggled to meet our residents’ basic needs. That’s why we frequently highlight local nonprofits that need our support.
With Ramadan beginning next week, we’re highlighting the Muslim Center’s Soup Kitchen in Detroit, which has been providing hot meals to the local community for the past 35 years―for all individuals, regardless of race, religion, or creed.
Can you donate directly to the Muslim Center in Detroit to support their Soup Kitchen and provide hot, nutritious meals to the local community?
Even throughout the pandemic, the Muslim Center has never missed serving a meal to the community. When we reached out to their staff, they told us: “When someone comes to the Muslim Center for assistance, they are in a safe place, with volunteers who serve them with dignity and respect.”
Their Soup Kitchen’s motto is “to serve the people food that we would eat ourselves.” And for the broader Muslim community, the month of Ramadan traditionally involves helping people in need, including through charitable contributions, known as zakāt.
Please make a donation today, and help the Muslim Center’s Soup Kitchen feed the local community throughout the month of Ramadan.
Together, we’ve raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for nonprofits in and around Detroit and across the country. Each time we’ve highlighted a critical need, you’ve answered the call.
Thank you for always being part of our squad.
