Protecting our environment has always been a priority for my friend, Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin — and for me. As Representatives from Michigan and Washington State, we both come from places that cherish and depend upon our extraordinary natural resources — from the Great Lakes to Puget Sound.

In Congress, Elissa and I have worked together to fight against pollution and provide clean drinking water to our constituents. We've passed legislation to develop clean energy jobs and permanently protect wilderness areas.

Elissa and I have seen the impacts of climate change firsthand in our home states. And, as a former Pentagon official, Elissa knows that climate change poses a serious threat to our national security.
