John,

Elaine refuses to let history repeat itself:

13 News Now: COVENANT Act aims to help veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxins

For decades, veterans poisoned by the chemical herbicide Agent Orange were denied the health coverage they deserve.

Now the Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that roughly 3.5 million service members were exposed to toxic chemicals over the past three decades. But while nearly 14,000 of these veterans have filed claims for resulting conditions like asthma and cancer -- the VA has granted disability benefits to less than 4,000 of them.

Elaine's new bill will not only require the VA to provide medical care to these veterans, but will also expedite the process to make sure red tape doesn't get in the way of the care they need. We need 3,000 signatures to urge Congress to pass this crucial legislation to get our veterans the benefits they deserve!
