John --
Yesterday I was out on the Coney Island boardwalk for opening day, the first since the pandemic began last March.
Rosa and I got to ride the Slingshot and I spoke with boardwalk business owners about their struggles with rent and the high cost of the last year of closures.

I’m running for Comptroller to lead a recovery that supports small businesses, brings back the things we love about NYC, and builds a strong foundation to sustain us for generations to come.
There isn’t a Slingshot solution to this crisis, we aren’t going to spring back to where we were before. But with a lot of hard work, smart government action, and some real solidarity, I think we can get somewhere better.
We are just 72 days out from the most important election in NYC’s recent history. This is a crowded race, if we fall short on our fundraising goals we won’t be able to compete. Can you chip in $20.21 to keep us on track? [[link removed]]
We saw Albany finalize a really strong budget this week, with billions for residential and commercial tenant relief and a historic fund for excluded workers. This wouldn’t have been possible without years of organizing, to take back the state senate, to demand the wealthy pay their fair share, and, of course, the wins in November and in Georgia that we can thank for the influx of federal aid.
There are big fights ahead to make sure our recovery lifts up those who most need support and creates opportunity for shared prosperity in the future. That’s the work I’m excited to do together.
Thank you,
Brad
P.S. We fell a little short on our fundraising goal last month, anything you can give now will help us catch up! [[link removed]]
