Hi,
Everything changed yesterday in the fight to save net neutrality.
A federal court ruled that the FCC’s 2017 decision to overturn net
neutrality was legally flawed in key respects. It said the agency could
not prevent states from enacting their own open internet legislation --
but the court did not reverse the order entirely.
In light of yesterday's decision, it's more urgent than ever that all 2020
candidates pledge to restore strong net neutrality protections.
Demand Progress has been helping to lead an effort to get candidates to
raise this crucial issue in public debate and commit to protect a free and
open internet, including by rejecting campaign contributions from Big
Cable. Will you help build the movement?

There is huge, growing momentum behind this pledge. It has been backed by
nearly 20 netroots groups and nearly 170,000 people have signed on to
demand that presidential candidates take the pledge.
Our pledge is both bold and specific. It asks candidates to restore net
neutrality and reject contributions from phone and cable company
executives, lobbyists, and PACs. It highlights the need for the FCC to
prohibit ISPs from using harmful zero-rating practices and interconnection
agreements to circumvent net neutrality.
Since the repeal of net neutrality, we’re already seeing alarming reports
of internet providers slowing online services.^1 If net neutrality is not
restored, the public will lose the ability to access sites, run small
businesses, and tell the stories too often ignored by the mainstream
media.
The next president has the ability to restore crucial open internet
protections. But Big Cable is trying to prevent that by using its money to
influence the election.
Our ability to connect and communicate is at stake. We need to get every
presidential candidate on record for a free and open internet and insist
they reject AT&T, Comcast and Verizon’s money. Will you help?
