PLUG IN THIS WEEKEND

State of the Defund - Virtual Community Teach-In
Saturday, April 10  11am-1pm

At the height of last year’s protests following the murder of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, we pushed to defund SPD by 50%.  What’s next?  Join us THIS Saturday to find out.  Decriminalize Seattle and Defend the Defund are hosting a virtual community teach-in on the State of the Defund.  Get Up to Speed:

  • What we’ve won so far: Seattle had some of the biggest gains in the country on defunding the police.  How far did we get?
  • Defending the defund: Are city leaders sticking to their commitments, won through last year’s uprising in defense of Black lives?
  • How you can plug in: Help keep transforming Seattle into a city where all Black lives matter and policing is obsolete.

Register: http://bit.ly/defundregistration to receive the zoom link (necessary to participate in workshops during second half of event) OR watch the first hour on the Decriminalize Seattle Facebook page.

Die-In for Bloody Sunday
Sunday, April 11  12pm @ 15815 68th Ave S in Tukwila

9 lives were taken by police forces in the Philippines on March 7, 2021. Each day until April 11th, we will be honoring the lives of the activists who were targeted, arrested, and wrongfully murdered on Bloody Sunday. We are united in our outrage and grief as Duterte’s US-funded tyranny continues to take the lives of activists who are rightfully fighting for the most exploited in the Philippines. Join @malaya.seattle and @bayanpnw in mobilizing for the victims of Bloody Sunday (masks required, double mask encouraged):

🩸 April 9th @ 4:30pm - Banner Drop at Jose Rizal Park

🩸 April 11th @ 12pm - 15815 68th Ave S, Tukwila 98188

🩸 April 18th @ 5pm- Virtual mass orientation event for @malaya.seattle
