John,
The wealth gap and gender discrimination still hurt women all over the United States — but Carolyn Maloney knows how to change that.
As a new mom, Carolyn stayed at work even when her bosses threatened her. That experience gave her a new direction and reinforced her strong belief: women need equality now.
Carolyn champions the Equal Rights Amendment because she knows equality under the law is paramount. With women earning an average of $800,000 less than men during their lifetimes, we can’t sit back and hope things improve on their own.
Join Carolyn in demanding the passage of the Equal Rights Act to end the discrimination women have been facing for generations→
Without the Equal Rights Amendment, we have a government that tells women that they aren’t equal under the law. It’s a government that essentially says it’s okay to pay women less, treat people unfairly, and make assumptions based solely on gender.
We’ve already made huge progress in the fight for gender equality. We’ve guaranteed paid family leave, fought for greater representation in the workplace, and we’re even approaching universal affordable childcare for all. But without the ERA, these huge wins could be undone all too easily.
Sign on and demand the Equal Rights Amendment gets passed and ratified by Congress:
