Friends,

As ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, it is my responsibility to protect American families and taxpayers from waste, fraud and abuse.

That's why I called for an independent investigation into Vice President Mike Pence's use of unnecessary taxpayer dollars to stay at a Trump Hotel in Ireland which unnecessarily costs the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Along with 34 of my colleagues in the Senate, I introduced the HOTEL Act, which would prohibit the federal government from spending taxpayer dollars at properties owned by the president, vice president and cabinet officials.

This is not just about basic accountability. Donald Trump shouldn't be lining his pockets with taxpayer money. I'm fighting to put a stop to this corruption, plain and simple, but I need you with me.

Thanks for speaking out. I really appreciate it.

Gary
