The facts are staggering, John.

Every year, an estimated more than 725,000 Americans experience sexual violence.

More than 1 in 3 American women will experience sexual violence with physical contact.

More than 1 in 3 American women will experience sexual violence.

1 in 3 female rape survivors are assaulted for the first time when they are between 11 and 17 years old.

1 in 8 female rape survivors are assaulted before the age of 10.

John, our government must do everything possible to protect women, girls, and all survivors of sexual assault. That’s why we need the Senate to follow the House’s example and finally reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act.

If you agree, sign our petition calling on the Senate to vote to reauthorize VAWA NOW >> The evidence is clear: VAWA protects women (and men!), prevents sexual assaults, and saves lives.

Rate of violence by an intimate partner 1993-2008: 54% decrease in victimizations of women and girls age 12 and older.

Rate of homicide by an intimate partner 1993-2007: Down 26% for women. Down 36% for men.

Despite the proof that VAWA is a critical component to keeping people safe from sexual and domestic violence, Donald Trump and D.C. Republicans let it expire in 2019. This was worse than negligent -- it was downright dangerous.

We finally have the chance to reverse that wrong and reauthorize VAWA, but we need to join together to call on the Senate to take up the bill immediately.

Please, take just 1 minute to sign on to our petition today.

It's time to reauthorize VAWA. Sign the petition >>
