Friends — New York and Virginia just became the 15th and 16th states to legalize recreational cannabis in yet another step toward ending an undoing the racist War on Drugs, with New Mexico expected to follow suit soon.
But we shouldn’t have to leave it up to individual states any longer. The MORE Act in Congress would not only legalize cannabis nationally, but would also help correct historical injustices caused by discriminatory laws that have disproportionately impacted communities of color for decades.
Will you add your name to our petition and join Barbara in calling on Congress to pass the MORE Act? We can build on the momentum of New York’s and Virginia’s historic laws if we speak up now. [[link removed]]

The MORE Act is not just good policy that an overwhelming percentage of Americans support, it’s the right thing to do. After legalizing cannabis, we need to take it a step further by empowering the communities most devastated by the War on Drugs with accessible opportunities to the flourishing cannabis industry.
As a Co-Chair of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus, Barbara has been at the forefront of the fight for racial justice cannabis reform and a vocal proponent of the MORE Act for years. Now she needs your help to get this critical bill passed.
It’s time to legalize cannabis, expunge records for non-violent crimes, and invest in economic opportunities for the Black and brown communities hit hardest by the War on Drugs. Add your name to call on Congress to pass the MORE Act and legalize cannabis nationwide. [[link removed]]
