He started vaping when he was 16. At the time, vaping was – as Jalen puts it – what all the “cool kids” were doing. Soon, he found himself caught up in the trend as well, and it didn’t take long for reality to set in.
“After a while, the ‘cool’ kind of fades off, and you’re just addicted.”
After years of vaping, Jalen decided to quit. He’ll be the first to say it hasn’t been easy. The cravings and social pressure were his biggest obstacles, but being aware of his triggers and having healthy habits to lean on were key to getting through.
“It took multiple tries, and it took research, but I stopped. You can do what you put your mind to.”
