Tell Congress:
"“We need recurring, monthly $2,000 payments to everyone in the U.S. for the duration of the pandemic."

John,
The pandemic has hit all U.S. families hard―but particularly seniors.
At the outset of the pandemic, seniors were at the highest risk of infection and hospitalization from COVID. And now, one year into the pandemic, rising out-of-pocket costs including delivery fees and curbside pick-up fees continue to hit seniors.
Social Security’s modest, average $1,400 monthly benefit isn’t keeping up.
Now, Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Pramila Jayapal have introduced legislation that would send recurring, monthly $2,000 payments to everyone in the U.S. during the pandemic, and $1,000 monthly payments for one year after the pandemic.
This is the kind of bold progressive legislation that U.S. families need right now to survive. Any senior will tell you, their costs went up a lot more than Social Security’s 1.3% cost-of-living adjustment last year―and Tlaib and Jayapal’s bill will make all the difference.

Two-thirds of seniors 55 and older rely on Social Security as their primary source of income. And, as Rep. Rashida Tlaib said when introducing this bill:
“Even before the pandemic, most U.S. residents were living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to pay bills each month. As the economic crisis worsens, ongoing relief is absolutely critical for people’s survival and human dignity.”
Tell Congress to act! Become a grassroots co-signer of the ABC Act and call for recurring, monthly $2,000 payments for everyone in the U.S.
With vaccination rates increasing, we may not need to make many of these payments. But given the new, mutant coronavirus variants that keep popping up, we can’t risk putting our economic security back in the hands of Congressional sadists like Mitch McConnell. That’s why we need aid that’s automatic, as long as the crisis continues.
Public opinion is on our side: 60% of voters support recurring payments, along with a growing coalition of Congress members and advocates. Together, we’re showing huge public support for this legislation and demanding Congress act.
Thank you,
