John,

A lot has happened around the filibuster in the last few weeks. Joe Biden said he’s open to drastically weakening the filibuster. Several Democratic Senators have added themselves to the growing ranks of lawmakers calling for an end to the filibuster. Many rightly note that this archaic, racist Senate rule is stopping the will of the people to pass H.R. 1, an historic voting rights bill, and other critical pieces of legislation.

Other Senators, like Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, remain opposed to the idea of ending the filibuster. Holding on to the filibuster goes against what the majority of Americans want and blocks popular policies supported by people across the political spectrum. Staying silent on this or opposing change is giving power to Republicans and Mitch McConnell — people we worked so hard to take power away from.

This is an urgent fight, and the only answer is getting rid of the filibuster — an obstacle to progress. Demand Democratic Senators publicly support ending the filibuster today by adding your name to our petition.
