You are probably aware that PJI represents and defends clients free of charge (presently through 50 active cases), but PJI also influences the making of our laws.

When the courts are unwilling to act, it is crucial that our lawmakers know we expect them to pass new laws that will expand and not limit our freedoms! A few years ago, PJI created the Center for Public Policy (CPP) to focus on this vital objective. Through the CPP, our attorneys draft promising new legislation, oppose bad legislation, and advocate for the adoption of new protections. We also partner with like-minded, pro-family groups that are involved in legislation. Oftentimes, these allies do not have lawyers on staff and seek our legal analysis to reinforce opposition or support of bills.

Would you consider a generous gift now to help keep the work of PJI going unabated? ([link removed])

Here are a few recent/ongoing examples of the impact and success that the PJI – CPP is generating:

* Our Oregon attorney participated in a successful effort to defeat a bill that would have forced Oregon Christian schools to register with the Department of Education, which would have subjected the schools to radical and unworkable anti-discrimination laws.
* In New York, our attorneys have formally opposed the notorious A416, which ironically would give Governor Cuomo the authority to detain and remove citizens suspected of spreading disease.
* In California…
+ We submitted our formal opposition letter and are preparing to testify against AB 1084 which would bring radical de-gendering ideology to local toy aisles,
+ We are opposing revisionist history legislation that attempts to erase recognition of California’s founding father, St. Junipero Serra and
+ We are exposing and denouncing a shocking attempt to mandate an “ethnic studies” curriculum requiring students to chant prayers to Aztec gods! California is trying to mandate such “ethnic studies” through AB 101. We are raising the alarm as this trend will likely spread to other states.
* In Nevada, we are finalizing our opposition to two bills that increase assisted suicide (we are also monitoring and preparing to oppose similar legislation in Washington state).
* We are strategizing and preparing to oppose several anti-religious and anti-Catholic bills that seek to remove the freedom of healthcare providers to decline morally objectionable procedures like abortion and sex-change surgeries and
* On the federal level, we have mobilized opposition to the notorious Equality Act, which would roll back numerous religious freedom protections in the name of advancing LGBTQ rights. And while much attention has justifiably focused on Congress, we are also working at the state level to combat similar Equality Act-type measures in states such as Nevada.

We are completely dependent on your generous support to continue to ensure that just laws are enacted and justice is afforded to anyone in need, all across the country. Would you support us financially today? ([link removed]) Thank you for being part of God’s work through PJI.

Running the Race,

Brad Dacus
Founder and President, Pacific Justice Institute

P.S. Your generous donation will be used most efficiently. More of your PJI donation goes directly to the work of the ministry than any other free legal defense organization in America. And for two years in a row, PJI has earned the top, four-star rating based on financial stewardship, accountability and ministry transparency from the nation’s premiere charity assessment organization, Charity Navigator.
