Jack --

Last week, Governor Brian Kemp signed a law enacting dramatic voter suppression in Georgia. This was a blatant attack on voting rights, aimed specifically at suppressing the minority vote that helped elect President Biden and two pro-environment Senators in Georgia.

But the U.S. House is actively working to expand voting rights by passing the For The People Act, landmark voting rights legislation to curtail gerrymandering, stem the influence of money in our elections, and increase voter turnout. These reforms are good for people and the planet: our broken political system has prevented our country from tackling critical threats such as climate change.

Though the bill is still in front of the U.S. Senate, we want to thank Georgia’s representatives Lucy McBath and Carolyn Bordeaux for co-sponsoring and voting for this once-in-a-generation bill ([link removed]) ensuring all citizens have a voice in our democracy.

The final bill passed 220 – 210 and included important additions from both McBath and Bordeaux to restore our democracy – McBath’s Election Official Integrity Act and Bourdeaux’s amendment to protect absentee ballots and voter drop boxes.

Both McBath and Bordeaux will face tough races this cycle, but we need them re-elected so they can continue fighting for us. Can you chip in $20 today to make sure these Georgia members are re-elected? ([link removed])

Thank you for your continued support,
The GiveGreen Team
