John,
“Don't tell me what you value. Show me your budget, and I'll tell you what you value.” —President Joe Biden
Two weeks ago, Gov. Cooper released a budget proposal that invests in parks, clean water, clean energy, and climate resiliency. Now the General Assembly is crafting their version of a two-year budget.
We need to make sure it reflects North Carolina’s values and protects our beautiful state. Now is the time to make your voice heard!

What does the governor recommend? Here are some highlights:
* $10 million for clean energy and clean transportation projects
* $43 million for clean energy and energy efficiency improvements to low-income houses and schools
* $65 million for flood mitigation projects and floodplain buyouts of homes and hog farms
* Hiring 26 scientists at DEQ to protect us from PFAS and other emerging contaminants, and provide drinking water to affected communities
Every North Carolinian deserves to drink clean water, breathe clean air, save money on their power bills, and be safe from flooding and other growing impacts of climate change.
If you agree, tell your state senator and representative to show those values in their budget » [link removed]
