The Texas GOP is following in Georgia’s footsteps and pushing a slate of voter suppression bills.

Election clerks will be banned from sending mail ballot applications to voters and they want to put an end to drive-thru voting, which makes the ballot box more accessible for disabled voters.

In 2020 we almost flipped Texas. This bill ensures Republicans can maintain their complete control of the state.

We had some hope that some moderate Republicans wouldn’t allow a radical faction of legislators from pushing this despicable bill -- but it’s not looking optimistic.

The GOP is using Trump’s Big Lie as a springboard to enact legislation suppressing the vote. If this law passes, politicians will be able to pick their voters and cut some -- mostly Black and brown Texans -- out of the process.
