lpha Fellow Conservative,
Gavin Newsom has failed Californians on so many
levels that some days, it’s hard to keep track.
One of the worst
travesties in California under Newsom’s watch has been the school
closures — especially when it comes to minority students who were
already underserved and struggling.
Just take a look at this recent
headline in the Los Angeles Times:

alpha The article points out that non native English speakers are not
faring well with online learning. With more than 1.2 million students
(nearly 20%) considered to be English learners in California — we have
a major problem on our hands.
Martha Hernandez, the director of
Californians Together, a nonprofit that advocates for English learners,
called it “an educational pandemic.” She said, “We already had issues
of an achievement gap, opportunity gaps, lack of access, lack of
equity. Now that’s just exacerbated, and it will be a huge challenge.
It will have a big impact for many, many years.”
Californians have
suffered too long under the failed leadership of Gavin Newsom and
one-party rule in Sacramento.
We need to start putting our kids
FIRST, and make sure that all students have access to the best
education we can offer.
I’m ready to lead the charge for a better
tomorrow in California. All students deserve a chance at a future. As
your next governor, I’ll make sure they get it.
Sincerely,
Kevin
