Team, I'm shocked and saddened.
On Tuesday, the state of Arkansas passed one of the most bigoted attacks on the LGBTQ+ community in history.
This is an attack on the health and bodily autonomy of a group already more vulnerable to violence and suicide than the general population.
This step by Arkansas’ Republican-controlled legislature is just one of MANY Republican tactics to further oppress the trans community.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and co-Chair of the LGBT Equality Caucus, my heart breaks for the trans youth who will suffer because of this bigoted law. I stand with trans youth and pledge to fight back against these hateful attacks. Will you stand with me? »
Despite their big talk about small government, Republicans insist on having the government make personal medical decisions such as denying trans people potentially life-saving treatments.
Republicans also want to ban trans people from engaging in certain school activities AND dictate which bathrooms they use.
The Republican Party's transphobia is clear as day, and I will not stand for it.
