John, we still can’t believe he really said this out loud...

This week, GOP Sen. Tom Cotton posted on Twitter that “We have a major under-incarceration problem in America. And it’s only getting worse.”

Cori couldn’t let this blatant lie slide. So she replied to Tom:

It’s no coincidence that most of the Republicans who are against decarceration and reform in our criminal-legal system are the same ones receiving big money donations from the private prison industry.

That’s why it’s important to Cori that we don’t accept a single cent from corporate PACs or special interests. Relying on grassroots donations to power our work ensures we don’t have any corporate strings attached.

This way of fundraising ensures folks are centered in our legislative priorities in Congress every day. If you want to support Cori as she fights to hold Congress accountable and address the incarceration crisis in the United States, can you make a grassroots donation today? [[link removed]]

Cori was the first activist from the movement fighting for Black lives to be elected to Congress.

She started out on the streets of Ferguson fighting to save Black lives. T hat same passion, courage, and fight she had out there is what she’s bringing every day to Congress.

From calling out the forces of white supremacy that pervade our government, to leading the call to abolish the death penalty and grant clemency to the people who are on federal death row — Cori has been laser-focused on centering racial justice in her legislative priorities.

This is exactly the kind of bold leadership we need to bring transformative change to our communities and uplift an agenda that’s rooted in justice and equality for all. Can you chip in $5 or anything you can to support Cori’s bold leadership and advocacy in Congress? [[link removed]]

Keep fighting,
Team Cori
