No one likes robocalls. Oregonians are reporting frustration, and in certain cases, economic loss because of robocalls. If it seems like the number of robocalls you have received in the last few years has increased -- you're right. In 2018, 47.8 billion robocalls were placed nationwide, and often it feels like they are all coming to your phone!

The House has passed legislation that would require the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to:

* protect consumers from the unwanted solicitations by phone and text message;
* mandate thorough record-keeping to ensure callers respect the privacy and consumer consent;
* prevent organizations and companies from circumventing these rules.

I am now urging the Senate to pass the bill so we can finally provide relief to Americans from this nuisance.
