New York State Budget:
Ins & Outs Worth Celebrating
New York State finalized its budget, and we have some great news to report. We helped eliminate Part R, a provision that would have allowed buildings in New York City to avoid reducing emissions and cost the city thousands of green jobs. And we helped secure inclusion of the $3 million Environmental Bond Act ([link removed]) and funding for the Environmental Protection Fund to invest in infrastructure improvements in environmental justice communities.

Youth EHJLT Program Wins New York State Environmental Excellence Award
Our Youth Environmental Health & Justice Leadership Training program has received an Environmental Excellence Award from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. This program prepares students to be environmental and climate justice advocates for their community. Learn More ([link removed])

Peggy Shepard spoke to the Guardian for its article on how Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan is refocusing the agency to advance environmental justice.
