"If you are over 16 years of age and live or work in King County, you will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination starting April 15th. The City of Seattle has opened up pre-registration for their mass vaccination sites HERE: [link removed]

Please sign up for a vaccination! King County Young Democrats understands that we're only as safe and healthy as our most vulnerable members, and we want to encourage you, your friends, your family, your co-workers, and anyone else you know and love to protect YOURSELF and protect OTHERS by getting the COVID-19 vaccine!

You may be wondering:
* Should I get the vaccine? Short answer: YES! The sooner we're all vaccinated, the sooner it will be safer to hang out together again. We miss seeing you all and we want to stay connected!
Long answer: If you have any qualms about the safety or efficacy of the vaccine, your doctors, medical care providers, and vaccine providers at the City of Seattle sites would love to talk to you about why. It's true not everyone can get the vaccine - but it's also true that there is a lot of misinformation about the vaccine out there. We want you to be safe, smart, and knowledgeable about your health and what is best for you!

* I don't know, it seems like other people out there need it more than I do. Maybe I should wait or give up my turn? PLEASE DON'T! We're at a point in the pandemic where we both have enough vaccinations for the general public, AND have enough vulnerable people covered that we can open up more vaccinations to less-vulnerable people. Further, there has been a lot of talk about "herd immunity", but in situations like this, that only occurs when medically fragile people and more healthy people have the same protections against the same diseases. If you're a healthy adult, you're helping other people who may not be as healthy avoid getting sick by also being vaccinated.
The county is extending an invitation to you to do what's healthy and protect yourself - don't wait!

* I still have questions and concerns. Who should I talk to? Your medical care team is prepped and primed to answer your questions on vaccine efficacy and side effects as the entire state rolls out vaccinations. If you're more worried about the logistics of getting to your vaccination site, what vaccine will be provided, and when to go where, that should be covered when you register with the City of Seattle using the link above to get vaccinated. For example, click HERE to see the "Know Before You Go" worksheet for the Lumen Field Event Center Vaccination Site in South Seattle. ([link removed])

Stay hydrated, stay safe, and remember, everyone: we're not out of the woods yet, but we're making a big step in public health towards a safer future!"
