The hardest part of work at the last remaining abortion clinic in Missouri is knowing there are people who need care and can't access it — not for any medical reason, but because of a long list of medically unnecessary legal restrictions that make it impossible. In states like Missouri,
Roe is already essentially meaningless. Overturning it could be the final straw.
And now, more than 500 new abortion restrictions have been introduced across the country.
It's heartbreaking. It's dangerous. And together, we can put a stop to it. Will you help?
Attacks on abortion have been spreading like wildfire since the start of 2021. The ultimate goal: overturn
Roe v. Wade and end abortion access in America. While we're begging for pandemic relief, some politicians respond by legislating away our right to control our own bodies.
If you're as furious (and alarmed) as I am, join me in fighting back.
Donate $35 or more to Planned Parenthood Action Fund now to defend abortion access for all. We need to raise $200,000 before Friday at midnight, and with your help, I know we can do it.
I see firsthand what happens when a state politicizes health care, the way 44 states have been doing since January. My patients suffer the consequences.
In a single day, I've treated a 24-year-old mother of three whose IUD failed, and a 24-year-old single woman who got pregnant after being drugged and raped at her own housewarming party. There were other patients who wanted to see me that day but couldn't schedule appointments because of laws that have nothing to do with their health or safety — but rather someone else's politics. It's devastating to see a person's face when they don't want to be pregnant and you're the last person who can help them, and you can't. They are forced to continue with their pregnancy by law.
We must fight these restrictions with everything we've got — for ourselves, neighbors, friends, and family in every state. Please rush a gift of $35 or more to help Planned Parenthood Action Fund fight for access for all.
Thank you,
Colleen McNicholas, Chief Medical Officer
Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri
